The Castle of Vulci is situated in the territory of Canino. It is reachable by a bridge called 'ponte del'arcobaleno' or rainbow bridge, built by the Romans to cross the Flora River that divides Canino and Montalto di Castro. The castle was built by the Cistercian Monks in the 12th century on an existing 9th century Abby dedicated to Saint Mamiliano that was distroyed by the incursions of the Saracens. In the 13th century the Castel became an important center and hostel for pilgrims that for a half a century was managed in cooperation with the Knights Templars. Today is houses the Archeological Museum of Vulci.
